Following are three recipes for homemade hand soap. One for excellent liquid hand soap, one very easy recipe for highly lathering liquid hand soap and one for a beautiful and gentle bar hand soap. Easy to Make and Lovely to Use Handmade Hand Soap

Ingredients:

o 2 cups of grated mild soap or olive oil soap

o 1 tablespoon of palm oil

o 1 teaspoon of rubbing alcohol

o 1 teaspoon of glycerin

o (1/2 teaspoon neroli fragrance oil)

o 1 teaspoon of essence of orange blossom

o 1/2 teaspoon vanilla fragrance oil

o 3 cups of distilled water

o 2 pump bottles

o Using a low heat setting and a double boiler add the finely grated soap, palm oil, glycerin and water

o Simmer until mixture is liquefied

o Add alcohol

o Remove from heat and allow to cool

o Add the essential oils, mix well

o Cool completely

o Using a funnel, slowly pour liquid soap into chosen container. (if the mixture is too thick ,slowly add water until reaching desired consistency)

So Simple Lathering Liquid Hand Soap

o Pour one tablespoon of liquid hand soap base into an empty soap dispenser. (The soap that was formerly in the dispenser should be a highly lathering soap such as a commercial dish detergent.

o Fill the container with warm water leaving only a small portion of the container unfilled.

o Place the lid back on and vigorously shake the container

o Pour into pump containers and shake to initiate the foaming action

Purely Pretty Hand Soap -Bar

Use the cold process method for this soothing soap and allow the soap to cure for 8 weeks.

-­ 8 lbs of 100% Olive Oil

-­ 1 oz of beeswax pearls

-­ 4 ozs of lye (sodium hydroxide)

-­ 10 ozs of distilled water

-­ Melt the beeswax in the olive oil until temperatures reaches 120 degrees

-­ Add the lye to the water

-­ Follow basic cold process instructions and add the lye mixture to the mixture of beeswax/oil and cool to 110 degrees

-­ Stir until trace and pour into mold.

-­ Optional additional additives: dried herbs, flower petals, fragrance oils, and coloring agents.

Each of these recipes can be used for the basis for hundreds of homemade hand soaps. Try making one and you will be hooked on making your own soaps.
